About The Role
The Global Security & Safety Department is seeking a Senior Director for Global Investigations & Intelligence, to lead and expand a dynamic Investigations and Intelligence Program.

The role involves the need for strong operational, strategic and interpersonal skills. This successful candidate will interface with employees and support staff across multiple teams within and outside of the We Company.

We are looking for an individual that has significant problem solving and analytical skills. The role requires the ability to objectively evaluate information and make sound decisions. The individual must be able to succeed in both a demanding team environment and independently.

The successful candidate will have mastery knowledge in investigations management and be able to build an investigative and intelligence program from the ground up. This Senior Director will have experience in departmental budgeting and vendor management.

The investigations and intelligence team will monitor worldwide events and news that may affect any of the We Company Brand and serve as the primary point of contact for all intelligence collection and dissemination. The Senior Director will be responsible for coordinating and communicating a timely and appropriate response impacting WeWork’s buildings, members, employees, global events, and infrastructure.

This role will be responsible for managing a large team of security professionals as both a manager and a leader. It will be incumbent of this position to provide excellent professional development and mentoring, being responsible for the career development of those reporting to this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee investigative policies and procedures for the We Company’s incident reports and provide training to all security teams globally.
  • Create SOPs and standards for incidents that require investigations and a framework on how incidents are investigated.
  • Enforce the standard of investigations in all regions and ensure all investigations are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Build and manage a team of investigators and intelligence analysts that can manage all investigative reports and other responsibilities that are needed.
  • Communicate and create relationships with government agencies such as Police Departments and District Attorney’s Offices.
  • Provide senior leadership & expertise across all aspects of WeWork’s effort to monitor threats from terrorism & criminal matters, collect intelligence, perform impact analysis and report to key decision makers and stakeholders.
  • Identify & develop security programs to protect the most valuable assets of WeWork to include critical business activities, physical infrastructure, human resources, intellectual property and business relationships.
  • Establish best-practice methodologies for incident/change/problem management in a global, 24-hour, high-volume, high-availability, critical production environment.
  • Develop and drive the development of innovative threat reporting operations processes and tools from concept to delivery for executive staff and team personnel.
  • Provide executive leadership to manage demands from projects and technology upgrades, including recommendations for vendor tools/solutions and global alignment of networks.
  • Oversee operations projects; keen understanding of budgets, financials and measuring business value via leading-edge metrics.
  • Mentor, manage and motivate a high-performing team of senior managers/analysts/investigators and/or senior professionals and set clear priorities to achieve investigative and intelligence goals.
  • Work closely with the information security department to ensure that information security and risk management are embedded within the culture, drive coordination, consensus and execution to mitigate cyber risk issues and emerging threats and partner with them to manage multiple programs to include; Insider Threat, Global Travel Tracking, and Continuity of Operations.
  • Appropriately resolve, investigate, and document incidents that occur during WeWork events and at WeWork properties.
  • Communicate with WeWork legal staff to ensure incidents are handled and investigated appropriately.
  • Work long, irregular, hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays often on short notice, with the flexibility of last minute travel.
  • Available for worldwide travel for event incident management and investigations.
  • Frequently participate in meetings in person, or online, with security team members worldwide.
  • Provide constant communication to the Global Security Operations Center.
  • Deliver presentations to the senior leadership team and able to clearly articulate an intelligence briefing.
  • Ensure effective professional time utilization of Security Team Members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with solid career progression, including at least 5 years in one or more of Legal, and/or Consulting (experience in a professional services organization a plus), or Government
  • Bachelor’s degree required. JD or relevant graduate degree preferred
  • Experience as a criminal prosecutor and/or corporate security investigations is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years managing people and leading teams of at least 5 people or more.
  • Prior experience in security project management required.
  • Prior experience in open source intelligence gathering.
  • Minimum undergraduate degree required, however, graduate degree is preferred.
  • Ability to adhere to privacy and confidentiality guidelines and policies.
  • Contacts and strong reputation in the private sector and the ability to leverage contacts and drive new business
  • Proven leadership and teaching ability in order to train regional teams.
  • Hands-on professional with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate areas in which additional or other services may be beneficial to clients.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and ability to maximize applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with interviews and witness preparation.
  • Crime analysis experience.
  • Demonstrate familiarization of factors needed for prosecution such as reasonable suspicion, probable cause, evidence recovery/chain of custody, etc.
  • The position will oversee investigations involving topics such as, but not limited too: assaults, threats, harassment, stalking or unusual interest, fraud, theft, and other property crimes.

Other Duties

  • Lead and/or contribute to large, cross-division functional projects that impact the organization's long-term goals and objectives.
  • Manage operational budgets, financial reporting and third-party vendor contracts for areas of responsibility under supervision.
  • Familiarization with physical security operations and access control systems.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally is required.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and teaching.
  • Identify security issues, customize, implement and execute innovative processes and solutions.
