Overall Purpose

This position is responsible for providing direction and leadership for the digital identity product line.   The VP, Product Leader is responsible for the complete product life cycle from product concept to production delivery.

This role will work directly with the Group President to leverage new and existing infrastructure to develop the network and its services. Through a team which includes both dedicated as well as matrixed individuals, as well as strategic partners, this role is responsible for the successful creation of the product and integration with key financial institutions and relying on parties.   The leader will define the product’s feature/functionality and be a key influencer on market strategy, defining unique value propositions, sales approach as well as championing the strategic vision internally and externally.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for managing the Product Lifecycle.
  • Develops appropriate processes to gather, analyze and communicate competitive intelligence, legal and regulatory changes, and other issues impacting the Product to drive strategy development, mitigate competitive risk, and educate the company on marketplace dynamics.
  • Working in a matrixed team environment consisting of other disciplines in the company, responsible for devising appropriate product features, partner selection and value propositions for the Product.
  • Drives the product roadmap strategy including establishing release milestones and launch plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the product provides the anticipated value and establishes key performance indicators to track product value.
  • Ensures that technical and functional requirements support the business requirements.
  • Works with Product Development and Technology to create business requirements to support product development and management initiatives.
  • Works with the Delivery group to ensure that maintenance and operational implementation needs are reflected in the roadmap and related requirements.
  • Work with internal groups to deliver MIS and Business Intelligence and for product reporting.
  • Assists Sales in Identity Provider acquisition and retention including value study support.
  • Works with Operations to define and track operational metrics.
  • Builds executive relationships with financial institutions as identity providers as well as potential attribute providers and partners in the industry
  • Engages directly with stakeholders to understand their business needs & expectations and provides counsel regarding market trends and conditions to ensure a positive forward thinking image for the company.
  • Represents the company’s strategic vision and maintains high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-focused professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry association events, and close engagement with industry consultants.
  • Develops champions within customer executive leadership, channel partner, or market stakeholders; producing first adopters.
  • Builds and leads an exceptional customer-focused, market-oriented, high-performing team to successfully meet business objectives.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience as a top resource responsible for the strategic direction of products in the payments or financial services segment.
  • A recognized leader with a proven track record for excellence; development of client-focused, creative and practical solutions; and executing business plans that produced measurable results.
  • Ability to build deep relationships and networks with key decision makers and influencers, ability to create and deliver compelling and persuasive arguments with an executive level audience, comfortable establishing new relationships with and influencing the C Suite.
  • Entrepreneurial approach and passion, forward and strategic thinker, innovative, competitive, ability to drive meaningful change in the business and in the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA is a distinctive advantage
  • Extensive business development experience and banking knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of the competitive landscape of Digital Identity players, payment systems, fraud, risk, and compliance providers.
  • Strong understanding of the changing financial services, legal and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of app development and respective consumer products disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of effective marketing channels.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
